How it works

Install. The app adds an encrypted DNS configuration using Apple's supported system framework.
Activate. You select adBlock in your iPhone DNS settings. Apple requires that final selection, so no app can make it for you.
Stay protected. DNS requests are checked against the filtering policy. Known ad and tracking domains receive no usable address, and allowed requests resolve normally.

Only DNS requests reach the resolver. Your website content, messages, downloads, and other app traffic continue directly to their normal destinations.

Privacy without a browsing-history dashboard

DNS request data is processed to answer each request and apply the selected filtering policy. adBlock does not retain a domain-by-domain history, sell personal data, use advertising SDKs, or build a browsing profile. Activity reporting uses rotating aggregate counts rather than stored domain names.

A DNS resolver necessarily processes the domain names it is asked about, along with connection metadata, so we do not claim the service receives no data. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is processed and what is kept.

Annual. €4.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple. Once the app is live, the price shown on the App Store purchase sheet in your currency is the authoritative one. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple, so not every user will qualify. Full billing detail is in the terms of use.

What it cannot do

Honesty here saves you a support ticket later.

DNS filtering cannot remove advertising served from the same domain as the content you want.
Another VPN or DNS profile can override the selected resolver. The app reports that conflict rather than pretending it is not there.
The service currently runs on a single node, with no regional redundancy and no uptime guarantee.
Automatic fallback to system DNS requires iOS 26 or later. On earlier versions you recover using the app's pause or remove controls.
The app supports iOS 18 and later.

Questions

Is adBlock a VPN? No. It uses Apple's encrypted DNS setting. Only DNS requests use the filtering resolver, and normal internet traffic is not tunneled through Velorion.

Does it work in apps as well as Safari? It can block requests to known advertising and tracking domains across apps and browsers that use the iPhone's selected DNS configuration. Some ads cannot be blocked with DNS alone.

Do you store my browsing history? No domain-level request history is retained. The resolver processes DNS requests in memory, and the optional activity number stores only privacy-safe aggregate counts.

What if a website or app stops working? Pause protection temporarily, or add an exact-domain allow rule. The app also includes diagnostics and a complete remove option.

Can I use another VPN? Sometimes, but a VPN may take control of DNS and bypass adBlock. The app checks whether filtered DNS is active and reports conflicts.

How do subscriptions work? Monthly protection is €0.99 and annual protection is €4.99. Eligible annual subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. Purchases and cancellations are managed by Apple.

Status

In private development, ahead of TestFlight. There is no download link yet, and this page will gain one only when a real destination exists.
